SUPERMON Workshop Successfully Held at Istanbul Medipol University

On May 12, 2025, we successfully held a dedicated workshop titled "Current Studies in Motion Analysis and Rehabilitation Technologies" as part of our EUROSTARS-supported project, SUPERMON – Sustainable Solution for Children with Cerebral Palsy by Developing a Cost-Effective Wearable Motion Monitoring and Exercise System.

Hosted at Istanbul Medipol University, the workshop brought together leading experts, researchers, clinicians, and technology developers from Türkiye and South Korea to present and discuss innovative solutions in rehabilitation technologies, wearable systems, and artificial intelligence applications for children with cerebral palsy (CP).

The SUPERMON project aims to develop a next-generation rehabilitation system using true wireless earbuds and sensor-integrated game platforms, enabling real-time monitoring, personalized activity suggestions, and patient-specific data collection. This approach supports more sustainable, efficient, and personalized therapy practices.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Keynote Speakers from Istanbul Kültür University, Turkish-German University, and Istanbul Medipol University
  • Presentations on wearable motion analysis systemsAI applications in CP rehabilitation, and evidence-based rehabilitation solutions
  • A dedicated session on the SUPERMON project vision and progress
  • Live demonstrations of innovative tools developed by project partners, including:
    • BEFLEX’s IMU-based analysis systems
    • INOSENS/Becure’s VR-based rehabilitation games and smart balance/posture tools

The workshop provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge, strengthening international collaboration, and advancing the goals of the SUPERMON project toward improving the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy.

We extend our gratitude to all speakers, attendees, and partners who contributed to the success of this event.

The SUPERMON+ project was proudly represented at the 13th Oceania Academy Biennial Conference, held in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, from 26–29 May 2026. SUPERMON+ researcher Kübra Önerge, P.T., Ph.D.(c) presented the project's latest scientific work at one of the leading international conferences dedicated to childhood disability and rehabilitation. This participation highlights SUPERMON’s ongoing commitment to advancing innovative monitoring technologies and promoting scientific excellence through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Kyungpook National University (KNU) is the new partner of SUPERMON+. Dr. Oh from KNU has extensive experience in dynamic modeling and simulation of human gait, as well as in developing rehabilitation robotic systems for the upper and lower limbs, and gait for patients with neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson's disease. KNU will participate in WP2 and will specifically take on roles such as defining use-cases, analyzing requirements for measurement systems needed for human subject experiments, analyzing the dynamic characteristics of experimental data, and establishing protocols.
